888, MIR, and ISS Water Door Virus Signal

I decided to take a break for a few months and clear my head. I'm back and I felt I should jump right in starting with some weird science. Reported in the Gaurdian on the Aug. 28 was a story about a virus invading the International Space Station. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/aug/28/spacetechnology.spaceexploration

I laughed at the funny reference to the Daleks our favorite "Doctor Who" human exterminating cyborgs. Then it dawned on me that there was a movies called 'VIRUS' (1999 film).

The movie was primarily about a lifeform that invades the MIR Space Station. The lifeform transmits itself to a Russian research vessel and begin to kill off the crew. It uses the bodies to create cyborg creatures that then cause havok. The MIR space station made its very deep impact on March 23, 2001. I got some inspiration for Goro Adachi's recent post in formulating my idea that the movies 'Mirrors' and 'Star Wars' was signaling the fall of MIR. In that actual events are being used to mirror event in movies through the silver screen doorway. A kind of walking through the waterdoor backwards. All of this happening very close to the occult holiday of LughNASAdh. Anyone aware of these topics knows that the global elite have a desperate need to enact rituals around global events. I also found it very interesting that MIR being symbolic of Russia was being mirrored in the signal of war with the U.S. backed country of Georgia that started on 8/8/08. This global situation is a deep impact event started undercover in the shadow of the olympics and its promethean torch.

The password stealing virus GaMMima.AG was interested in 10 games that according to the report are popular in the "Far East". The games in the Far East are indeed a game on such a scale that only those playing really know the outcome. Along with all the propaganda about global warming and greenhouse gases, the alien lifeform, reveals itself and thinks humanity is the virus when it proclaims "SPECIES IS DESTRUCTIVE, INVASIVE, NOXIOUS, HARMFUL TO THE BODY OF THE WHOLE". I believe someone is making alterations to the matrix. Speaking of the matrix, this also mirrors the new movies, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" starring Keanu Reeves. The movie parrallels some of the same themes about the destructiveness of humanity.

So the games are symbolic and very real all at once. Pointing us through the ISS/ISIS/High Priestess/2 tarot key water door to the unconscious. Then leadiing us back through the silver screen to a movie about the MIR space sation/Russio-Georgian war/ deep impact event. The fall of the MIR space station on March 23 signals a link to March 21-22 -- Goddess Oz/Ostara -- Note: Easter is the first Sunday after the first new moon after Ostara. March 21 is one of the Illuminati's Human Sacrifice Nights. The bombs started dropping just after midnight on the Republic of South Ozz/77/Ossetia. This reflects back to us the war as a human sacrifice ritual on the occult elites high holy day of 888. Considering that the word Mir in Russian means "community" and "assembly," aswell as "world" and "peace." The events on 888 in Georgia were set into motion to offset the ideals commonly acknowledged that the olympic represent. The book, "The Grand Chessboard" by Zbigniew Brzezinksi, a foreign policy advisor to presidential nominee Barack Obama, gives an idea as to the importance of the region when he writes,

"In that context, how America 'manages' Eurasia is critical. A power that
dominates Eurasia would control two of the world's three most advanced and
economically productive regions. A mere glance at the map also suggests that
control over Eurasia would almost automatically entail Africa's subordination,
rendering the Western Hemisphere and Oceania geopolitically peripheral to the

The black and white squares representing by the black and white pillars behind the High Priestess leads us to another unusual synchronicity. The movie, 'Virus' was based on a comic book by Dark Horse Comics whose symbol is reminiscent of the black knight chess piece.

Dark Horse comics has published licenced comics such as Star Wars and original titles like Hellboy and 300. All recent movies. So who or what is the Dark/Black Knight? For a better idea I suggest checking out Konkrete Junkyard's The Darkest Joke. There are also ideas associated with decapitation involved with this symbolism. This can be explored at Jake Kotze, THE BLOB, his collaborative work with Steve Willner from Labyrinth of The Psychonaut called, "Decapitated Heads, 888, and The Serpent of The Crossing". Last note, Dark Horse also publishes the original title, "Black Cross"(1997). The story is based in a time where there is a lingering worldwide economic collapse. How real is that for you?

I came across this video and felt it was along the same vein as recent posts on Pseudo-Occult Media and Atlantean Times, the use of occult mind-control symbolism in the media. I think for anyone not versed in the knowledge of the occult or symbolism this video would seem very strange indeed not to mention the lyrics. As you would notice at the beginning of the video the Mad Hatter drops off a doll. So from the beginning it seemed very Alice In Wonderlandish. He also gives the idea of a circus Big Top and its Ring Master.

The Ring Master passes bushes at the front cut into three layers (levels of initiation) representing the layered programming and doubles as two masonic pillars. As the young lady opens the box we see from the vantage point of the doll symbolising the activation of the programming. This causes the doll to cry black tears representing the place the personality being subjected to programming has to go. Disassociating in order to handle the ordeal. Thus we enter the wavy (floor pattern) hypnotic world of the creepy house. All the associated black/white symbolism is there, the walls (reminding me of a Rorschach Test), floor, dress. The clock is central to the room then the all seeing eye (programmer) makes an appearance.

The lyrics by themselves at face value makes you wonder what the artist is getting at. However, they seem to almost dare you to decode the essence of the video. Are you brave enough? Are you strong enough to handle the truth? I got the impression that the song was implying that this world of mind-control really does exists. So down the rabbit hole we go. The room spinning and the allusions to flying, getting higher and walking on air are references to the drug induced element associated with Monarch programming. In fact the butterflies make an appearance as she lays traumatized on the bedrocks. An obvious symbolic connection to death/sexual programming as the self dies and the shattered personality is all that is left. Kerli make reference to it further in the lyrics.

At this point the victim is describing the process they are going through. As if watching themselves without any real control. This reminds me of the dehumanizing and guilt element to the programming laid out in The Illuminati Formula to Create an Undetectable Total Mind Control Slave By Fritz Springmeier & Cisco Wheeler. Those programmed are told to kill something usually a small animal under threat of more torture. When the victim complies he or she is told that they are forgiven, thus adding to the trauma.

At this point my jaw is just on the floor. These lyrics allude to the animal programming associated with black magic familiars, cats and bats. In the video the emotional trauma of Fire and Ice programming is displayed. The fact the the oven is the refrigerator and the frig is the oven is meant to symbolise the suspended terror of the victim. The inability for the victim to determine what response the programmer will have to their actions, pleasure or pain. In the video the Kerli is dresses as a ballerina. I am not sure as to what it mean, however, I would venture to guess it stands for the structure training of the victim, taking years. The best ballerinas often start out very young. I suppose so does the programming. There is also, but I cannot be sure, an allusion in the lyrics to sexual programming. There is a stag in the video and she wears a spike collar giving the element of bondage, so I suppose it is connected. The upside down bird in the cage is obvious.

Toward the end of the video the Mad Hatter is staring at her through the looking glass as she repeatedly make the sign of the pyramid with her hands. Kerli starts out by taking on the alter of the white doll meant to soon be the personality everyone sees. After a period of time she is trained via the ballerina with sexual programming on the bedrock of bondage. Her sexual programming is now neatly tuck away, back in the box, ready to be activated at anytime. Her true self, now no longer the outer personality, wakes up with her wrist bound trapped in a box as well. Her new outer alter replaces her true self in the clock room. Rocking (teetering on collapse) as time ticks away. There is a last element in the lyrics that pertain to some victims of mind-control going out into the world and becoming very successful. I will leave it to you to come to your own conclusions. I will say, it is probably people we see everyday in the media. I would also suggest you checkout another youtube video from this artist called A Beautiful Day.

In researching of the New World Order (NWO) occult agenda you will before long come across their secret Luciferian/Sun worship. You will also link the ideas of the mountain, tower/ziggurat as an element linking them to the underworld. This reminds me of my studies in Qabalah when it is said, that the highest up on the tree of life is the deepest in man. A adaptation of the As Above, So Below; As Below, So Above Hermetic Axiom. In Tracy Twyman's publication, The Arcadian Mystique there is the essay, Sleeping Beauty and the Sacred Mountain: House of God, Gateway to Heaven where her research has led her to write,

"Every culture has a myth about the sacred world mountain, such as Mount Meru in
the East, or Mount Olympus in the West, where the peaks (often twin peaks) reach
to the heavens. It is symbolically placed in the "center of the Earth", the world
axis, marker of the celestial pole about which the world turns. It is also
Paradise, where the gods live in immortality. And they live not just
on the Mountain, but in its caverns, which are said to reach down into the very
depths of Hell."

It becomes apparent that we are facing a type of knowledge only recently brought into the open on a mass scale via the internet. The Introduction To The Kabbalah posted on Life Technology News Blog adds to my own researched connections. Posted on the blog is the connection to Persephone, the underworld and it symbolic representation of the physical world in the ritual process. It states about this process in its connection to Qabalah that,

"Malkuth: The tenth emanation of the Tree of Life. Malkuth is associated with the Goddesses of the Earth especially PERSEPHONE(Greece), PROSERPINA(Rome), and GEB(Egypt). In studying this ancient transcendental knowledge or technology it is my belief that it was and is employed to awaken a person to deeper spiritual insights. However, as with most technology that is neutral, it can be used for malevolent purposes. If one looks into history, unfortunately this is often the case most of the time. However, with the Information Age, many are becoming aware that this knowledge exists. It is no longer held by a select few as in ages past. Indeed it must be sought out if we as a species are to understand the purposes of the psychodramas and Mega-rituals conducted by the NWO occult agenda.

J.F.C. Fuller in his book, The Secret Wisdom Of The Qabalah: A Study in Jewish Mystical Thought gives a detailed reason why this knowledge is so richly sought after and held in such secrecy by initiates. He states,

"Transcendental knowledge is knowledge which transcends the intelligence, yet it need not therefore be knowledge which is beyond the focus of the mind. The differential calculus is common knowledge to the mathematician, and yet it is transcendental to the majority of mankind. So also with practically all science; it is in itself the perquisite of the few whom we call the wise. Keeping this in mind, as we enter the bizarre undercurrent of the psyche, ritual is about the authentic transformation of human beings. The three great works of Alchemy are instrumental in this process. They include firstly, the creation and destruction of primordial matter. This the breaking down of consciousness itself. Making us susceptible to the transformative process causing a collective dissociative state. Secondly, the ritual itself, the psychodrama utilizing seeming unassociated signs and symbolic language. This is then transmitted via word of mouth, media, the earth grid, hyper-dimensional space, etc. Lastly, the making manifest of that which is hidden. This is the realization of the outer manifestation in reality before our eyes. What we experience as the world, our society and even us experiencing that change. That we then think are inevitable situations, random occurrences, that are just meant to happen. It is unfortunate that many of us do not realize the influence that consciousness has in our everyday live, beyond the notions of our everyday routines. Michael A. Hoffman II in his book, Secret Societies and Psychological Warfare describes the negative influence such acts my just have on us.

"The issue of controlling humanity with esoteric words and symbols encoded within a play, a media spectacular or a ritual is one of the most difficult for people to comprehend. That is why most people are viewed with utter contempt as "cowans," "the profane," the "gentiles" and the "goyim" by secret society initiates.
"I think we are farmed," Charles Fort said of humanity. It was Fort who also suggested that man deliberately invented the dogma of materialism in order to shield himself from the evidence of what was being done to him by means of psycho-spiritual warfare methods hyped by "coincidence," symbolism and ritual."
So it is important, for everyone of us, to know how these ancient systems work. This knowledge is coming out in a variety of ways. As our world unfolds before us, consciousness is gradually revealing itself through us. Trying to awaken us within the dream of light and shadow.

I have not written in a while. However, the visit to the United States by Pope Benedict XVI got my attention. I wondered about its ritual significance. At first nothing struck me. Then while watching the scifi channel the movie, "Odysseus : Voyage To The Underworld" came on. I enjoy mythology, as I have said before, so I sat back and allowed the images and story of high adventure to wash over me.

In this story, Odysseus and his comrades are tormented by the Queen of The Underworld, Persephone. Who is trying to escape an Island (Underworld) she has have been cursed by the gods to remain on for eternity. She is kept company by bloodsucking vampire bat like creatures, who as you find out are her children. Now despite the fact, I have never heard of this particular story of Odysseus, I did realize its importance in ancient ritual. The rituals done for Spring and the coming Harvest. The sacrifice of the Sun King so that his blood my breath life back into the earth after winter and to ensure a blessed harvest. In accordance with all the talk about wheat prices and food riots across the globe I did not think it was a coincidence.

Then while browsing the Coast To Coast Am website I found posted a curious detailed horoscope chart for April 20, 2008 a SUNday. A Shamanic Astrologer named AJ McGettigan contends,

"The Full Moon this weekend (April 20) will coincide with a rare and
propitious alignment of Sun, Full Moon, Pluto and Saturn. At the time of
the Full Moon (3:25 am, Pacific time), the will be forming grand trine
with Pluto, and Saturn. The trining planets are all in Earth signs. This
formation is made stronger by its exactness. The event marks a moment of
harmony in the workings of karma, expression, and renewal. The light of
regeneration appears in the dynamics of experience and relationship.
Inspiration and new vitality infuse the practical workings of the
material plane. New horizons are viewed with ease. New
possibilities emerge with grace. "

My imagination ran away with me as to the importance of this alignment and what could be going on on such a day. Understanding astro-theology and the importance of such days for the use in rituals I decided to look up the Pope and see what he was doing. The Pope being a Sun King symbolic figure, I was amazed to discover that he was visiting Ground Zero that day to offer prays for those lost in the tragedy.

One of the pictures of the Pope I discovered had footage of the ceremonial candle, table with a golden carpet. I walked away from my computer for a little while to get something to eat. I almost choked on my food as I ran back to my laptop to take a closer look at the candles base. Upon closer inspection I found it to be very similar to the proposed plans for the future Freedom Tower set to be built at the location. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief. Was this just a coincidence or was it an intentional symbolic act of invocation for the Freedom Tower with a smaller replica, a model if you will, made to look like a simple candle holder.

It was not lost on me the importance the Elite put on such celestial movements and their use of numerology/Astro-theology in coordinating their ritual events. The fact that the Pope celebrated his 80th birthday in the United States was of unique significance in and of itself. Knowing about numerology, both 8 and 0 are numbers closely associated with infinity/eternity and spiritual matters. However, on a more mundane level 8 also encourages ideas associated with influence, setting powerful goals, being ambitious, resisting challenges, over coming rivalries and so on. The 20th date vibrational influence corresponds to ideas such as compromise, avoiding conflict, working in the background and listening to others. All associated with the basis of the Pope's trip. A sort of thesis/anti-thesis/synthesis ritual taking place.

There are hidden connections to the celestial alignment of the Moon, Sun, Pluto and Saturn. Connections linked to archetypal and mythological symbolism in the acts of the Pope while in the US. His meeting to strengthen ties to the Jewish community around the celebration of Passover. His willingness to meet with those who were abused at the hands of priests and meeting with family members of victims of 911. The holiday of Passover is linked to the story of the Israelites being saved, as the Angel of Death destroyed the first born of Egypt while they were captives. There are also many interesting aspect to talisman magic associated with the Passover that can be found at Jeffrey Dennis' blog: Jewish Myth, Magic, and Mysticism .

I find that The Angel of Death corresponds to my idea of Hades/Pluto, god of the underworld. It is also linked to Saturn/Chronos in mythology as it is this deity that devoured his own children. Hades abducted and raped Persephone, later causing her to become Queen of the underworld. It is important to remember that in many way the Catholic Church is the embodiment and continuation of the ancient mystery schools of Egypt and Babylon. In Michael Tsarion's new book, Astro-Theology he states:

"Christianity is, as we have said, a warped branch of ancient solar cultism. The
priests who enjoyed elevated status within the world's Solar Cults were
astronomers par excellence. Their theologies, like those of their illustrious
ancestors, were originally Astro-Theologies."

These mysteries where enacted through dramas for the initiates to understand the astro-theological significance of event. The divine marriage and associated ideas of death/regeneration/rebirth, aswell as the sacrifice of the Sun King are all implied themes woven into the mystery drama of the Pope's visit. Tsarion goes on the quote Harry Dale Huffman in End of The Mystery stating,

"The religious focus of the earliest known civilizations was on the sky,
which was universally known to be the home of the “gods.” The sky covered the
Earth,and so was called “heaven,” which means a “covering”...The myths were
intimately tied to the stars through the constellations, for many myths ended
with the hero being placed among the stars in the sky, a process called
catasterization. Thus a constellation was said to be the image of the hero, or
heroine, who had been taken to live among the gods, and be immortal."

The Sun/Solar Cult connection is symbolized by the Golden Carpet and the seeming rays on the candle base. When one studies the Ancient Mystery Cults you begin to realize that there are parallel exoteric/esoteric teachings. Many within the Synchromystical community have notice the rise in new solar symbolism taking place in Logos of many organizations and companies. It is my contention that this represents the worship of the zodiacal sign Leo. Leo is a fixed zodiac sign and a typical representation of solar worship being interchangeable with the sun. Leo is positioned on the opposite or darkside of the zodiacal wheel from Aquarius. This correspondence is brought forth in the recent movies, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and the sequel The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian as Disney continues to work its magic. While everyone anticipates the idea of ushering in the Aquarian Age in the Procession of The Equinox. Religious and Occult initiates are worshipping the rise of Leo/Sun in secret. This is because while Aquarius represents the conscious collective motivations of humanity, Leo with its associated symbolism and ideas is the archetypal energy of the unconscious directives of man. Those who study religious and occult iconography, the connections between Leo and The Tribe of Judah is unmistakable.
The Tarot also has some secrets to tell. The 8th card, Strength or Lust, for those who also have the Crowley's Thoth deck is associated with the Hebrew letter "Teth" meaning serpent. The serpent symbolizes secrecy, subtlety and wisdom. While the serpent allegorically as the "old serpent" is the tempter of mankind and the source of illusion. Once overcome it is the instrument of salvation and connected to the ideas of reincarnation, regeneration and immortality. For anyone who has enjoyed Steve Willner's videos will understand the Freedom Tower Ritual that took place. The zodiacal Serpent Ophiuchus and the methods associated with disCERNing the truth collide at the center of our Galaxy.

This meditation came to mind when I came across the building plans of the Crystal Island in Moscow. The structure of the tower immediately drew me to it. Drawing me in like a vortex of power, that I could not help but think if it will be built specifically for that task. Fated to be the largest building in the world it is described as being a "city in a building". Why a city in a building?

I have been reading the book Talisman by Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval. They make a very convincing argument that cities across the globe , such as New York, Washington DC and Paris in France were built with a magical hermetic purpose. I have drawn my own conclusions that this purpose is to control consciousness. However, one does not have to look very far when researching high strangeness in the layout of cities. There are some very interesting symbols embedded in the formation of Washington DC.

According to research such cities were created to harness the power of stars, planets and zodiacal constellations. A form of astro-theological worship going back thousands of years and still practiced today, albeit not in the open. Hancock and Bauval shed some light on this in their research on the Picatrix. A manual of sorts on how to construct a talisman within the layout of a city using astrology, magic, alchemy and the cabala. A talisman is an object charged with emotional, intellectual and spiritual energy. This manuscript was first discovered in Spain. A Latin translation of a an earlier Arabic version in the twelfth century.

They state in their book Talisman: Sacred Cities, Sacred Faith

"Many cutting -edge researchers have long accepted that ancient Egyptian art,
statuary, obelisks, pyramids and even whole cities were meant to act as
powerful talismans. It is also recognized that the subliminal effect of such
talismans can be increased by adding a variety of sensual stimuli other than
mere visuals. Carefully chosen music, for example, will almost certainly
enhance the experience, as well as perfumes, incense and lighting
conditions."

I can't help but wonder is this what was in mind with the design of the Freedom Tower in New York City. The destruction of the Twin Towers in the 911 Mega Ritual plays into the idea of the creation of a "grander structure" from destruction. Jake Kotze of The Brave New World Order has done a mound of research into the synchromystical aspects of the 911 Mega Ritual and its connection to Freemasonry. Another noted researcher is Steve Willner of Labyrinth of The Psychonaut.

The Archetypal symbolism of the Tarot cards also offer up some significant ideas in connection to towers. The 16th card of the Major Arcana face cards is the burning tower. The Hebrew letter associated with The Tower is (Peh) meaning the mouth as the organ of speech. The card also represents the direction north, which symbolically means the place of darkness, unknown, of the sun's/son's annual death. Mars is the planet attributed to the The Tower (Peh) and by association war, reproduction and scientific endeavors. Other titles are "The Lightning-struck Tower", "The Fire of Heaven", "The House of God" and "The Tower of Babel".

We have to keep in mind that towers are essentially large pillars. Pillars have a long history of association with God/Goddess fertility symbolism and the sexual act. A case in point, is the Egyptian mythological figure Geb as he lay on the ground trying to reach up to unite himself with Nut, the Goddess of the overarching sky.

When I look at the Crystal Island Mega Structure it brings to mind a Mountain like K2 recently posted about on a variety of blogs. This is connected to the idea of seeking the Gods.

This could also mean that the global elite want to bring the power of the Gods to earth in some Promethean fashion. K2: Quest Of The Gods by Ralph Ellis delves deep in to this subject matter. In any case, we are dealing with a matrix of power not meant to be understood. Ben Fairhall of Battling The Behemoth on his recent post "Hoodoo City" drives it home, in my opinion, as to how this matrix is affecting us all unconsciously on and individual and collective level. He writes,

created that make ritual inevitable."

Primarily because of my interest in mythology and comparitive religions, I have researched this topic for many years. While some may think that this information takes away from the holiday. I tend to think it enhances my appreciation given the consumerization of Christmas. Make no mistake Secret Societies, like the Masons and Occult Groups around the globe all know the truth about Christmas. I found this lecture of Ralph Epperson. This video is especially close to my heart because it was his book, "The Unseen Hand" that initiated me into the Global Elites agenda for a New World Order. It changed my way of looking at history and fueled a fire in me to read and research for myself what is going on in the world today. What an interesting NASA project. NASA is a particularly good doorway to explore for symbols and mythological ideas. I have discovered through such sites as Goro Adachi's : Etemenanki that NASA is given to high rituals during their shuttle project missions. I found this photograph representing the mission telling because the angle of the satellites with earth reminded me of the Forty Seventh Proposition of Euclid better known as The Pythagorean Theorem (a2+b2=c2).

I am sure that some remember that from basic geometry class. In a right triangle the square described on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares described on the other two sides. However, what might not be realized is that this was described by the Egyptians as Osiris, Isis and Horus or the creative divine trinity. This form is closely connected to the Freemasons and is apart of their rituals. It is their symbol of eternal nature. The female principal Isis is represented by the side of 3 units, Osiris the male principal is represented by the side of 4 units and the Hypotenuse of 5 units is Horus.

The Grail Mysteries have been made popular over the years by a variety of books and even by the movie, The Da Vinci Code 2006 based on Dan Brown's book of the same name. The Grail has been connected to the idea of Jesus and Mary Magdalene having a child thus continuing the bloodline of Christ. However, the myth and symbols of the grail are pagan in origin. Before it was christianised in Spain during the 12th century, taken from a sacred tradition by the Moors, the Celts worshipped a holy Cauldron of Regeneration. Being a feminine symbol, it was a blood-filled vessel that symbolized the womb meaning rebirth/reincarnation in the Gnostic tradition.

Take a look at the Deep Impact Mission patch. The Eye of Horus/Ra is encoded into it. Just another piece of evidence of occult ritual taking place right before our eyes. Remember the grail mission is symbolic of rebirth/reincarnation. Horus was considered the reincarnation/rebirth of Osiris through the feminine womb or ritual gateway. An alchemical process is being enacted. This process is about the rebirth of the Sun/Son. The new age to come at the end of days. We have been conditioned for this through TV and movies.

The movie, End Of Days staring Arnold Schwarzenegger is just one that encoded this mythos into our consciousness. Schwarzenegger's character is named Jericho Cane. He is protecting a young woman named Christine York played by Robin Tunney. During the climax, synonymous with sexual union, Jericho and Christine escape to the streets and into another church, where Satan smashes through the floor, sending debris and statues everywhere and confronts Jericho in his true form as a massive, demonic dragon. Moments later Satan enters Jericho's body. Now controlled by the Beast, he attempts to rape Christine and mate with her, but with the help of Christine's begging words, Jericho manages to fight Satan's control off for a few seconds. Using what might have been his only opportunity, Jericho impales himself on the sword protruding from a statue of Saint Michael the Archangel, to trap himself for the few remaining seconds until midnight. At midnight, Satan is pulled out of Jericho's body and sent back to Hell. Jericho dies seconds later after seeing a vision of his wife and daughter smiling at him.

Although in the movie there was an overt sexual agenda, the symbolism of the Grail mission means the same thing. For those who have not seen the movie, I suggest you rent it. This will give you a better idea of how these archetypal myths are utilized via the cinema. Checkout the End of Days highlights.

Does it make me....

I have, since I was a child, loved to read mythology. It transported me to another time and place. A place of high adventure and questing for some lost treasure or secret. I always felt you could discern some truth or special knowledge by studying the myths of the past. Regardless of the myths cultural connection, it was as if I was looking at the moon and finding within it the brilliance of the sun disguised. Does it make me crazy? Crazy to muse about the importance of mythology today. How does it scare or inspire us in this day of faith and reason? Is it even important at all?

I think it is. The old myths are still with us today. I would say, stirring something in us, even if we are not aware of it. Calling us to go on a quest for truth and meaning. I think, however, to understand the power of myth, one needs to have knowledge of the power of symbols. Symbols are more powerful than most of us realize. They can have a variety of meanings and many different levels of interpretation.

I have noticed over the past few years a great many movies utilizing the power of myth. Fantasy and Scifi are great venues to bring myth out into the open. Many have a "end of the world" theme to them that is unmistakable. Stories telling of great battles that will change the world. Some inviting you to imagine that you are the last person or apart of a few groups left to survive on earth.

What draws us to these movies? It is more than just entertainment. The urge to symbolise the world around us is a very human thing to do. Ancient shamans used ritual and myths to describe their trance states. I know I felt entranced when I went to see Lord of The Rings and Star Wars: Episode I-The Phantom Menace. It was like a rite of passage. However, I just don't view the themes and symbols in movies and TV shows as being there strictly for fun. The beauty of mythology, ancient or modern, is that it encodes its lessons within our minds. It uses trance to disguise seemingly mundane images, while leading us on the sublime journey of the hero.
